Fitting TV Wall Brackets

Fitting TV brackets is a simple task for most people with basic experience of DIY in the home.

You can save a lot of money by avoiding the need to employ a TV wall bracket specialist to fix your TV brackets. However, always work safely; if you need further advice please contact us for information.

Step 1

Is your wall constructed of:

• Brick
• Breeze block
• Concrete
• Stud and plasterboard (partition wall)

Our TV brackets can be fitted easily to all the above types of internal wall

Step 2

Assemble your tools and other requirements:

• Dust sheet
• Electric drill with masonry drill bits or wood drill bits appropriate to your type of wall
• Spirit level (to ensure accurate fitting of your TV wall brackets)
• Large screwdriver (standard round head and Phillips head)
• Electric cable finder and pipe finder to avoid drilling into these accidentally

Step 3

Find an assistant to help you with the fitting process. TV wall brackets or LCD monitor mounts can be heavy.

Step 4a - for brick, breeze block or concrete walls

• Choose the spot where you will fix the TV wall bracket and mark.
• Use the spirit level to centre the wall plate on your marked spot
• Mark the fixture points of the TV wall bracket accurately on the wall
• Drill the fixing holes to the appropriate length
• Insert the plugs into the holes. Fit wall plate using the bolts provided. Check they are secure
• Fit both arms of the TV wall mount using bolts, spacers and washers as required, also attach cables and power leads
• Attach the arms/front plate of the TV wall bracket by screwing in to the 4 holes in the back of your TV
• When you have checked for safety, lift up the TV and hang or attach to the wall plate of the TV bracket
• Use the screws provided to secure the TV to the wall bracket

Step 4b – for Stud walls or Plasterboard walls

Follow the steps in 4a, but remember:
Due to the combined weight of your TV wall brackets and the TV they will support, ensure that you fit the TV wall bracket into at least 2 upright wooden studs within the partition at each end of the bracket. Locate the studs by using an electronic stud finder.
